16th Century Farmhouse, Brecon Beacons National Park

Llangorse Lake view holiday cottage with fantastic panoramic views over Llangorse Lake (SSSI), with its beautiful backdrop of the Brecon Beacons National Park, from the 1st floor sitting room of this comfortable former farmhouse.

In a unique elevated position on a working farm where horses are bred, this newly refurbished house, furnished with a mixture of antique and modern pieces, has wooden floors, low beams, lots of period features and a wood burning stove in the sitting room.

Bedrooms are decorated in pastel shades, comfortably furnished with lovely views.

Working Farm & Welsh Cobs

Welsh Cobs are bred on the farm and you can watch the owner, a farrier, at work and there is stabling available for 2 horses if you wish to bring your own.

Brecon 7 miles away has supermarkets for serious provisioning as well as an array of interesting and unusual shops, banks and post office along its narrow Georgian and Jacobean streets and passage ways. Markets on Tuesdays and Fridays sell excellent local produce.

Llangorse Lake - boating, sailing and canoeing

Llangorse Lkae in the Brecon Beacons National Park is a birdwatcher and walkers paradise and there is fishing, sailing, canoeing, rowing and windsurfing.

Adventure activities

At the Rope Centre (less than 1/2m away) there is indoor climbing, abseiling and the truly thrilling Sky Trek - zip through the canopy of the wooded hillside on wires of up to 100ft!

Llangorse Riding Centre, Village & Jazz Festival

There is horse riding through gentle valleys or onto open hills - the Llangorse Riding Centre has horses for hire to suit novices and experts alike.

Llangorse village has 2 pubs and a post office and nearby Brecon, popular all year round, bursts into life during the Jazz Festival in August.

Hay on Wye Book Town

Hay on Wye is a haven for book lovers, (34 second-hand book shops) and is host to the world renowned annual Literary Festival in early summer.

Crickhowell & Grossmont Castle

Abergavenny, a 20 minute drive, has an annual food festival and nearby Crickhowell is a pretty riverside village and do try a leisurely trip on the local canal, there is lots to discover within an easy drive of this Llangorse Lake view holiday cottage.

Grossmont Castle ia remakably well preserved fortress and well worh a visit. Do also call in at the local church in the village of Grossmont the nave was built in the same style as the great hall of the castle.

Llanfaes Dairy Ice cream & Black Mountain Flying Club

Claimed to be 'the best ice cream in Wales' this luxury artisan ice cream increases in popularity year on year, with 42 flavours to choose from a visit to the ice cream parlour should please everybody in the party.

Trial lessons in a dual controlled glider with a qualified instructor over the Brecon Beacons are available at the Black Mountain Flying Club in Talgarth. You may discover the passion of a life time.

Walk in Lleyn Llech Owain Country Park

Enjoy many opportunities to walk in the 64 acre country park with lake surrounded by peat bog, coniferous forest and broad leafed woodland and dry heath.

Fishing at Hay on Wye

The finest salmon fishing river south of the border. Fishing tickets are available at Golesworthy's shop.

Vale of Usk

The river Usk begins high in the Brecon Beacons, passes three mountains Sugar Loaf, Blorenge & Skirrid Fawr before opening out into the Vale of Usk a beautiful patchwork of fields criss crossed by country lanes and punctuated with quaint villages. Perfect for fishing, riding, motoring, country pubs & walking.
