Brecon Beacons holiday cottage
In the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this is a stunning property in an elevated location with fabulous views of nearby Crickhowell and the Black Mountains, including Sugar Loaf and Table Mountain. Modern and cosy with thick insulation and under-floor heating, this recent barn conversion has been carried out to a high specification by local craftsmen – lovely and warm in the winter, airy and cool in the summer. Two sets of oak French doors open onto sandstone patio areas; one with fabulous views and one completely private with garden furniture and a barbecue area – ideal for enjoying lazy summer days. Crickhowell just 1 mile away has a supermarket, fuel station, banks, post office, internet cafe as well as interesting and individual shops and crafts.
Brecon Beacons, Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal
This is a naturalists and bird watchers haven - watch Buzzards and Red Kites wheeling overhead and excellent walking country. The Sun Inn at Winforton is an award winning pub serving delicious food including Sunday lunches.
Monmouth & Brecon Canal
The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal only ¼ mile away with its colourful narrow boats, newly-refurbished footpaths edged with bluebells in springtime and even a large Redwood tree.
Usk Castle
Do visit the enchanting and romantic ruins of Usk Castle overlooking the small town of Usk and the beautiful river valley beyond. Nearby is the River Usk and attracts fisherfolk and canoeists throughout the year.
The Old Rectory Golf Course & Local Activities
The Old Rectory 9 hole golf course is within an easy stroll and there are several fine restaurants nearby to choose from. Lots of activities within a short drive – a climbing centre and boating at Llangorse Lake, gliding, hang gliding and paragliding, extensive mountain biking and horse riding centres. Some of the best caving in the United Kingdom at Llangattock Escarpment is also close to this Brecon Beacons holiday cottage.
Big Pit and Blaenavon Iron Works - World Heritage Site
Tour a real coal mine in the company of an ex miner. See the underground workings and the surface services including the winding engine house, pitheads baths and blacksmiths workshop. The Iron Works was the cutting edge technology of its time in the 18th C now one of the best preserved ironworks in Europe.
National Roman Legion Museum
This fascinating museum in Caerleon is on the site of what once was a Roman fortress built in AD 75 . The museum has exhibitions and artifacts, Roman remains and a Roman garden. There are interactive displays and dressing up opportunities for children also a reconsructed barrack room to explore.
Wye Valley Walk
It is possible to walk a selected part of this beautiful 136 mile trail. Do remember your camera the views are wonderful. Lots to enjoy near this holiday cottage in the Brecon Beacons.

2 Bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 4 plus travel cot on request. 1 double bedroom & 1 twin, both with oak beams and oak floors and views over Crickhowell and Black Mountains. Both on 1st floor.

Bathroom with Japanese square bath, washbasin and toilet on 1st floor.
Shower Room with walk-in shower, washbasin and toilet on ground floor.
Kitchen modern oak fitted units with cooker (electric oven, induction hob), microwave, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer.
Utility room with washing machine & tumble dryer.
Dining area with ash table and chairs seating 4. French doors opening onto raised sitting-out area with fantastic views.
Lounge/Sunroom with sofa, arm chairs, satellite tv/dvd, cd/radio hi-fi with iPod dock. French doors opening onto large, private paved patio with garden furniture and barbecue.
