Secluded, romantic Pembrokeshire cottage.
- Far, far away from the modern world this enchanting cottage is perfect for honeymooners or for lovers of solitude, peace and tranquillity.
- Set in a beautiful secret valley - steeply wooded hillsides, ancient bluebell woods and a tumbling river - this newly restored Pembrokeshire cottage is eco-friendly with the water heated by solar panels.
- French doors open from the sitting room onto the patio and large rear garden with sloping lawn bordered by a stream with a bridge leading into ancient woodland.
- The luxury designer kitchen has an electric 4 oven Aga and both bedrooms are en-suite - the 1st floor bedroom has a shower room and the ground floor bedroom has a dressing area and bathroom with underfloor heating.
- The bustling little town of Newport about 3 miles away has a good range of local amenities including interesting individual shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, bank, post office, minimarket, chemist, doctors surgery, and a filling station.
Site of Special Scientific Interest beside Gwaun Valley cottage
- There are 57 acres of ancient woodland, an SSSI, for you to discover and enjoy - no sight or sound of the 21st century! Lots of the owner’ s paintings and drawings are displayed throughout the cottage.
- Henry VII’ s coat of arms, a ‘ lion and dragon rampant ‘ can be seen in the large inglenook (with log burning stove) in the sitting room - he reputedly stayed on this spot on his way to Bosworth Field in 1485.
Y Felin Flour Mill & Fishguard Folk Festival
- One of the last working mills in Wales producing stoneground flour at St Dogmaels.
- Fishguard Folk Festival is an annual celebration of folk, song, and dance held over 4 days during the Spring bank holiday.
West Wales Arts Centre & Cafe Celf
- When in Fishguard do drop in and browse the fine contemporary and applied art and quality crafts. Enjoy refreshments in Cafe Celf and look out for one of the occasional musical recitals held there.
Walk the Gwaun Valley and Pembrokeshire Coast
- Time has stood still in this mystical valley. Wonderful walking country and a haven for wild and bird life - buzzards, shy otters, dippers, herons and kingfishers.
The Dyffryn Arms
- The pub in the valley is The Dyffryn Arms, - known locally as Bessie’ s, which serves real ale from a jug and New Year is still celebrated here by the ancient Gregorian Calendar on January 13th.
Newport & Fishguard
- Newport, with its 2 beaches, sailing club, links golf course, pubs, restaurants, art and craft shops and the quaint small market town of Fishguard - raved about in the 2007 Lonely Planet Guide - with its Farmers Market, cinema and interesting individual shops, are both only a short drive away from this secluded, romantic Pembrokeshire cottage.
Roy Thedvall Artist / Blacksmith
- Roy Thedvall Artist / Blacksmith creates a range of work in wrought iron and forged steel. His stock includes clocks, candelabra, fire irons and one off sculptures. Visit him at Crymych.
Hillside Smokery
- The Hillside Smokery at Crymych uses modern equipment and traditional methods to achieve flavour 'like it used to be' . Try some of Joan and David Prescott's smoked meat fish and poultry as well as bacon and seasonal products. Delicious!
